The spirit is weak. Everyone as faced a situation in manga or anime when we see a cute loli and think ” God , I know she (is only/looks like) 10 years old but I would XXX her…” (one of my theories is 90% of the AB.net people are lolicons. The other 10% are shotacons.)
But why we feel attracted to them? You look to the real life counterpart and don’t get the same attraction (thank god . =.=U ). First let’s look at our subject target: The Anime Loli.

So, what is a loli? If we follow the European standards, loli (the term comes from the movie Lolita.) it’s a young preteen girl with strong sexual conotations around it. But in Anime terms we can designate any cute preteen as loli. One thing to notice is loli applies to apparent age: several characters are centuries old but still look like they still are in junior high (An example is Evangeline from Mahou Sensei Negima.) One factor normal lolis share is the typical low development of sexual characteristics (or by other words, lack of curves….).
Theory A: Biological View
We are programed geneticaly to behave in certain way. Of course the education and social enviroment is more defining but still, genetics plays a part in our behavior. And one of the “codes” we have is to love baby faces. Round faces, big eyes and a head/ body proportion closer to 1:1 are things that makes us trigger that Baby Love factor; and what do you know? Anime characters uses those characteristics as a trend and they are even more exaggerated in Loli characters. But if genetics explained everything, girls would start demanding our gene profile before a date to prevent meeting assholes.
Theory B : Psychological View
Lolis are future Milfs. A guy can go crazy wondering the possible outcomes they can grow into. If you know Sigmund Freud work, he would usually mention that life is all about sexual impulses, and also says that we have a subconscient where our deepest latent impusles resides. When we see a loli, we are letting those impulses surface and take control of our mind. He would also say you were abused by your sister or have a morbid Peter Pan complex, so who will you trust?
Theory C: Sociological View
We suffer the pressure of society and his rules. We are constrained by our parents, by our boss, by our lack of women (or men.), by all in general. So our little lolis acts as a escape to our frustrations. They are small little girls withouth nothing to worry them and are there for our viewing pleasure. But then again , who want a girl who can’t afford her own cash, cook for us or who would whine all over you 24/7?
Theory D: Otaku View
Lolis are Moe because they are cute.
The D theory is the simplest but the more exact thing about loli’s. it’s not about sexual conotations or any other Ego subconscient action. We like lolis because they look hawt.

Cute does not equal hot, nor does it lead to being hot to me, and I can’t see how other people see it that way. It would be nice if you expanded on points B and C, since they are intriguing rationales.

If that’s your theory, it’s wrong. You have to leave out space for people like GC and I, you baka… There’s about a few percent who don’t actually want to XXX lolis…
My question is why are you metrosexual?
Also, count me out of that 90% (if you include the IRC folks). I don’t like to see my girls in compromising situations, which is why I usually try to steer clear of a lot of fanservicey shows.

Lolis in the eyes of an otaku are cute/hot because of their physical appearance and their behavior. Since i mean if you look at almost any loli doujinshi or any loli manga in general the loli always ends up in some form of a position that is there to arouse the male hormones (unless it is the children mangas..but still then sometimes as well)

also i agree with random 5,000 sometimes there is such a thing in anime and IRL that is over used and excessive. Ie huge tits.
So lolis are there to add an escape from the reality of over priced boobs.

To be honest, I think it’s a complex in the mind that wishes us to return to simpler times. A time when life wasn’t so complicated or demanding. When we could be free to be ourselves. Why is it then sexual? Because almost any base impulse in the human mind drives towards sex during adulthood. Kinda sad….
From personal experience, as i have in the past found myself in the presence of lolicons, i would assume that it is more of a base human desire to have what they are forbidden, combined with a supppressed sex drive leading them to take everything they see as “adorable”, or “cute” in a sexual manner. A combination of choices “A” and “C” if you would label them as such… however, in response to this (”Congrats. Ok, what you, and most people are forgetting is that its not a problem. its not a “condition”, some “weird drive caused by wanting a simpler life” or a suppressed sex drive.
