Bitter Virgin, a seinen manga edited by Square-Enix has one of the most shocking starts I’ve ever read.
Suwa Daisuke is the typical high schooler playboy, tired of living on the countryside of Japan. One day, while doing a delivery for his family’s restaurant , he stops to rest in an abandoned church. Meanwhile , a female classmate of Daisuki, Aikawa Hinako, enters the church too. Due to the startle, Daisuki enters in the confessional try to pretend being a priest. But Hinako does something he wasn’t expecting; she enters the confessional too and makes her confession: She was sexually abused by her step father, got pregnant and made an abortion. Even so, her mother let the abuses continue and got pregnant again. Due to the risk of being unable to bear childrens again if she made a second abortion, instead she had the baby and gave him to adoption.
From this incident, we see the change of attitude from Daisuke with Hikano. He starts to subconciously to protect her and can’t stop thinking about her. He even stop caring about his current “girlfriend” , Ibuse Kazuki, who will lead to a clash between the 2 girls.
This 1st volume shows well the potential of Bitter Virgin. The quality of drawing is above average and the plot is well developed, pending between the drama and the romance. We have the typical womanizer main hero who changes personality, the girl with the tragic past and the other girl who wants the main hero love and will do anything to get it. Let’s see how the other volumes will be, but from the looks of it, this is a another good series coming from the manga publishing section of Square-Enix.

It’s not out in English but it’s a GREAT series! I’ve looked all over for a Japanese copy and I cat even find that!

This manga makes me want to rejoice and cry at the same time: I’m glad that somebody is pushing such a serious issue into the main stream, but it still hurts to see anyone have to go through that - even if it’s in cartoon-format.
wow.. i just Finish reading the manga up to chp 13… and its Soo Tempting to read.. As Extrange said, this is one of the manga that has Such a Good start, where i was like feeling to say OMGBBQ… is there even such Stories??

OMG!!!! this manga is sooo cool and the opening chapter WTF… first manga that i EVER read that has a plot like this… and i think that this manga can be a big hit, i hope they cann make a anime out of this…

This is one of the best mangas that have a nice story and character build up. I hope this doesn’t go shitty midway though. And it surprised me that Square-Enix was the publisher. Anyway, does anyone know if this mange goes monthly or weekly?

Anyway, it is an amazing and touching story. The characters and plot looks v promising - Hehe I just love how Daisuki changes around her! ..anyway it’s great, everyone should read it \^-^/
the manga is soo good T_T and if they are ever going to make an anime, i hope the drawing doesn’t ruin it coz that will suck!!!

HI i would like to say the i love this manga and would love to own it.
does any one know if this manga is just going to stop where she admits to his sister that she gave birth to boy last year, cus thats sort of a shity ending for this manga, or is it going to continue, and if it is, then when will it be updated and wheres a good website to go to, i only know of onemanga.com?
There’ll be four volumes - so the fourth is the last volume of it. It was released in Japan, but I guess they’re still scanning it.
Go to onemanga.com and you can read up to chapter 24 (book 3) but I can’t find the rest and it ends on a big cliff hanger.

Bitter Virgin really captures the emotion and feelings throughout… although I haven’t read all of the manga,… THE CLIFFHANGER!! AHH! THE CLIFFHANGER!! T_T I NEED THE MANGA!! well, I’m still waiting for the 4th volume… and the author, Kei Kusunoki said there should only be 5 volumes… max… T_T… I actually started reading it because I was bored and picked it randomly. I wasn’t really over-excited about the name, but after knowing MOST of the plot and past of hers, I was kinda disturbed.. BUT! at the same time, interested… well, I recommend it to uh… kids 13+! Yeah. IT’S NOT AS SCARY AS SCHOOL DAYS!! T.T Yeah… and not sooo gore filled. Well, that ends my reply.

lovable and bittersweet manga with a sensational touch in it.The ending leaved me wanting more but at the same time being rejoiced that i could have read such a great manga.It truly is hard to find a manga in the same class as it is Bitter Virgin.
